The Shizuoka distillery uses two first distillation units to produce two different types of new-make spirits with different characteristics. The steam-heated K has a fruity aroma and light flavour  while the wood-fired W gives a heavier flavour and a longer finish. This Contact S is combination of both types of new make, and matured in bourbon barrels and quarter casks.
