The Balvenie Tun 1509 is limited edition series which features single malts selected and blended by malt master David Stewart. These "rare and precious" whiskies are then allowed to mature further in the distillery's Warehouse 24 in a large vat dubbed Tun 1509. Batch 7 of Balvenie's Tun 1509 comes from 21 hand-selected casks, including four ex-bourbon American oak casks, 10 refill Sherry butts and seven refill sherry hogheads, married for three months in Tun 1509. This is bottled at 52.4% ABV without chill filtration.
