Back in the 1880s, Alfred Barnard, author of The Whisky Distilleries of the United Kingdom, described the 8 year old from Lagavulin as "exceptionally fine".  This single malt whisky was recreated to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Lagavulin distillery in 1816.
